A Tool for Transparency
in Financial Inclusion
Financial inclusion is scaling fast, but do the institutions and funders driving it actually have the systems and incentives aligned to produce positive impact?
After ten years of working in financial inclusion, I noticed something: the industry talks a lot about impact, but the publicly available evidence is surprisingly hard to find.
So I started building a database. Checking every institution, one by one, for basic transparency: a website, an impact report, visible loan pricing.
What I found was a significant gap between the story the industry tells and the data it makes available. This website is my attempt to make that gap visible, and to advocate for something better.
