A Tool for Transparency
in Financial Inclusion

The financial inclusion industry is growing. Investments are increasing. Impact is claimed. But is financial inclusion actually having a positive impact?

After ten years of working in financial inclusion, I noticed something: the industry talks a lot about impact, but the publicly available evidence is surprisingly hard to find.

So I started building a database. Checking every institution, one by one, for basic transparency: a website, an impact report, visible loan pricing.

What I found was a significant gap between the story the industry tells and the data it makes available. This website is my attempt to make that gap visible, and to advocate for something better.
